KRMU: SJMC Students Gain First-Hand Experience at Aaj Tak’s ‘Halla Bol’ show

The visit provided a valuable “experiential learning” opportunity for the SJMC students: Prof. (Dr.) Amit Chawla, Dean, SJMC, KRMU.

On Sep 06, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC) at K R Mangalam University (KRMU) organized an industrial visit for its students to the India Today Group at Film City, Noida. As part of this industry visit, the BA (JMC) and MA (JMC) students had the unique opportunity to participate in the renowned debate show “Halla Bol” on Aaj Tak, hosted by esteemed journalist Anjana Om Kashyap.

During the live show, the students engaged with prominent spokespersons from various political parties, posing questions on a range of socio-economic and political issues, including the Haryana and Jammu Election’s issue after 370 abrogate, Buldozer Justice’s new way of punishment, or is this injustice, and other matters of national importance.

This insightful event was organized under the leadership of Prof. (Dr.) Amit Chawla, Dean of SJMC, with Mr. Karan Singh, Ms. Aditi Aggarwal, and Dr. Aaqib Anwaar Butt serving as faculty coordinators and accompanying the students.

Importantly, the visit provided a valuable experiential learning opportunity for the SJMC students, offering them a first-hand understanding of the intricacies involved in live debate programs and broadcasting within the field of journalism. Students witnessed the news production process, interacted with political leaders, and gained practical insights into journalism. The visit served as an educational and inspiring experience, emphasizing the importance of hands-on learning in the leading media industry.

Previously, on April 5, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication (SJMC), K.R. Mangalam University (KRMU) organized an industry visit for their students to the News 24 Channel situated in Noida. The students of SJMC attended a live conclave hosted by News 24 and visited the prime time studio, PCR room, radio studio, and several regional channels of News 24.
