KRMU and NAI partner to boost SJMC Education

On October 17, 2023, the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, K. R. Mangalam University (KRMU), Gurugram, and Newspaper Association of India signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the presence of esteemed dignitaries. KRMU and Newspaper Association of India (NAI) will cooperate more closely in education, research, and training development following a MoU. 

Significantly, The MoU signing ceremony was graced by Prof. Chandra Shekhar Dubey, the Honourable Vice-Chancellor, K. R. Mangalam University; Dr Vipin Gaur, General Secretary, NAI, Vikas Sharma & Anant Kumar, NAI; Gp. Capt. Praveen Mahajan, Registrar; Dean SJMC Prof. Dr Neeraj Khattri and all the faculty members of the School of Journalism and Mass Communication, KRMU.

KRMU and NAI collaborated for academic exchange (including internships/ workshop/seminars/ on-the-job training of students) and cooperation in education, research, and training with the objective of building competency, developing journalistic skills, and moulding the mindset of students through various programmes and activities. The MoU will improve the foundations of journalism by providing SJMC students with the information, abilities, and principles they will need to address future problems.

This can lead to a stronger education, research and media training environment for SJMC students of KRMU. It could facilitate several training programs, workshops, jobs or internships for KRMU, SJMC students, providing them with opportunities to gain practical experience and exposure to different aspects of their field.

The purpose of this MoU Specifies the overarching goal of the cooperation, emphasizing the enhancement of educational, research, internship and training opportunities for SJMC students. The Scope of this agreement between KRMU and the Newspaper Association of India defines the specific areas of collaboration within the context of the media sphere. 

In the context of reporting and evaluation, both of them set up a system for regular reporting on the progress and outcomes of collaborative activities, as well as mechanisms for evaluating the success of the MoU. Such an MoU is a formal commitment to foster cooperation and synergy among academics and NAI, ultimately benefiting SJMC students by providing them with broader educational and research opportunities. 

The goal of such an agreement is to increase relationships between KRMU and the NAI, resulting in better education, research, and career possibilities, as well as promoting a more vibrant and ethical journalism community. This partnership will benefit both parties through their joint works.
