The Ministry has notified in May 2017 the following schemes under Section 7 of the Aadhaar (Targeted Delivery of Financial and Other Subsidies, Benefits and Servicers) Act, 2016. Those are includes Pre-Matric Scholarship for ST students, Post-Matric Scholarship for ST students, National Fellowship and Scholarship for Higher Education of ST students, National Overseas Scholarships for ST candidates, Scheme of Grant in aid to Voluntary Organizations working for the welfare of STs, Development of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGS), Vocational Training in Tribal Areas, Institutional Support for Development and Marketing of Tribal Product.

The said notification requires the individual beneficiaries to furnish proof of possession of Aadhaar number or undergo Aadhaar authentication for availing benefits of above schemes. However, till the Aadhaar is assigned to the beneficiary, the benefits shall be given to such individuals based on alternate and viable means of identification documents as specified in the notification. As such, beneficiaries have not been prevented from availing the benefits under the above schemes for lack of Aadhaar enrolment. This has been stated by the Minister of State in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs Shri. Jaswantsinh Bhabhor Yesterday in Rajya Sabha.
