Deeksharambh 2024: K.R. Mangalam University’s new academic session to commence from August 24

The orientation program ‘Deeksharambh’ for new students at K.R. Mangalam University (KRMU), sohna road, Gurugram will be held on August 24, 2024. The Chief Guest will be Shri Suresh P. Prabhu, Former Railway Minister. The esteemed guests include Mr. Diwakar Payal, Head of Sales and Marketing at Ambuja and ACC Cement, Prof. Victor Gambhir, Vice-Chancellor of JECRC University, Jaipur, and special guest Mrs. Sonal Goel, IAS, Secretary, Government of Tripura.

The orientation program will be hosted by Prof. Dinesh Singh, Chancellor of K.R. Mangalam University. A five-day induction program for new students will be organized from August 27 to August 31, 2024. This information was shared by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Raghuveer Singh, during a press conference held at the university campus. The Vice-Chancellor also mentioned that through ‘Deeksharambh,’ students will be introduced to various aspects of the university. He stated that KRMU operates on the fundamental principles of ‘Learn to Earn and Learn to Live’, aiming to provide students with employment-oriented education to prepare them for their respective industries. 

Dr. Rahul Sharma, Registrar of the university, stated that the university provided scholarships worth 11 crores last session to support the educational and financial needs of students, which has been increased to 15 crores this session. These scholarships are awarded based on the academic merit of the students. During the press conference, Dr. Tanya Gupta, Director, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), mentioned that the university is taking a unique initiative to establish a museum based on Indian philosophy, culture, and values so that students can engage with the Indian knowledge system alongside modern education. 

Prof. Mehraj Mir (Motilal Nehru Chair) remarked that K.R. Mangalam University showcases Indian diversity, which is rarely seen in other universities. He added that the university is striving to contribute towards the goal of a Developed India 2047, as envisioned by the Honorable Prime Minister. The press conference was successfully organized by the university’s School of Journalism and Mass Communication. 

It is noteworthy that K.R. Mangalam University, established in 2013, spans across 26 acres and offers education in 71 undergraduate and postgraduate programs across various faculties, including Journalism, Agricultural Science, Architecture, Engineering, Management, Allied Science and Law.
