April Fool’s is a long time tradition in which we endeavor to pull things over on other people. Did you ever stop to think how it all began ?Each year at the first of April ipeoples are busy trying to get projects done at work or finishing up homework for school. Many are too busy too notice that it is the single time of year where things might go wrong and everything points to the fact that they are being pranked.
There are a couple of unique accounts as to when and why this tradition got started. The more popular version is that the day was first started when the reformed Gregorian calendar was completed in 1564. Before this was completed and recognized New Year’s Day was celebrated on March 25th. The celebrations would continue on April 1st.
When the New Year was run to January 1st certain people did not know the alteration that was made and would still celebrate on April 1st. Those who understood would play tricks on the ignorant parties.
One of the first prank for this holiday took place almost 200 years after the alteration to the calendar had already been done. It all took place in France and the person utilized a poisson d’Avril -April Fish. The fish was supposed to be in the zodiacal sign of Pisces. Other jokes around this time were rather boring and included invitations to artificial parties.
Today individuals try to create hysterical and rather dramatic pranks. Those who do not think about what day it is might suddenly think that their boss is firing them or that their wives may be pregnant. Other people may be given food that has been spiked with syrup or the kitchen sink that recoils on them.
The worst funny joke on people though is that they can become suspicious of everything and anything that happens during the day. If you don’t have a sense of humor than it is better that you stay inside your house.
