D.K. Sharma, General Manager, Central Railway conducted a surprise inspection Yesterday i.e 09.07.2018 between Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus and Thane section to review passenger amenities, cleanliness and monsoon arrangement works in this section. Inspite of the pouring rain, Sharma along with other Senior Officers, carried out this Footplate inspection wherein he inspected the water logging area and the pumps installed therein between Matunga and Sion stations and ensured that they are functioning properly.
He also interacted with the staff at Kurla station and appreciated the dedication of field staff towards their duties inspite of heavy rains in keeping the lifeline of Mumbai running throughout. He later did extensive inspection of Thane station and instructed Senior Officers to co-ordinate with local bodies and ensure that water from the SATIS area does not flow down on Railway premises.
Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer, Central Railway said “The positioning of senior officials at vulnerable locations for close monitoring, dedicated efforts of field staff as usual, intensive drains and culvert cleaning, additional pumps of high power and round the clock monitoring by none less than D K Sharma, General Manager and the mammoth efforts of team of Mumbai Division led by S K Jain, DRM, and information flow on real time basis by the PR department of Central Railway, put together has ensured keeping the life line of Mumbai running unhindered”.
S.K. Jain, Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Division, Kataria, Additional Divisional Railway Manager (Infra), Sunil Udasi, Chief Public Relations Officer and other Senior Officers were also present during the inspection.
