Pakistan has decided to re-instate the security of ‘Hafiz Saeed’

The mastermind of Mumbai 26/11 terror attack that left more than 150 people dead. The decision to re-instate Hafiz Saeed’s security was taken after Sharif recently revealed that Pakistan had a hand in the 26/11 attack. Hafiz Saeed is the chief of terror outfit Jamat-ud-Dawa. Added, TOI.

As the government restored Saeed’s security, he withdrew a petition he had filed in the Lahore HC to challenge the Punjab government’s earlier decision to withdraw his security. In April 2018, the government in Punjab had withdrawn Saeed’s security following the SC order to inspector-generals in Islamabad and all four provinces that security escorts from all people not entitled be withdrawn.

Also, The chief justice later directed the top provincial police officials to ensure the provision of security to all those who face genuine security threats. Report says that, The Punjab police have withdrawn as many as 4,610 personnel deputed for the security of influential people not entitled to official security. Saeed’s petition had said that the provincial government, on the pretext of the apex court order, had withdrawn his security. On his part, in his bid to push his propaganda against India, Saeed is allegedly using the vulnerable Sikh community in Pakistan.

Conspiring with pro-Khalistan separatists based in Pakistan, Saeed is reportedly using Sikh shrines to hold conventions and to recruit ‘ volunteers’ for the Khalistan movement. Following his propaganda, Gopal Singh Chawla, Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (PSGPC) and a pro-Khalistani separatist has also extended his support to Milli Muslim League (MML), a political front recently  launched by Saeed recently. Only recently deposed Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had hinted at his country’s hand in the 2008 terror attack in Mumbai..
