Hack KRMU 5.0 Kicks Off with a Bang: Day 1 Sparks Innovation Among 1000+ Tech Minds

The School of Engineering & Technology, K.R. Mangalam University (Center of Excellence – AI) proudly inaugurated HACK KRMU 5.0, a 54-hour national-level hackathon that has brought together over 1000+ participants from across the country.

Scheduled from February 18–20, 2026, the three-day mega technical fest stands as one of the largest student-driven innovation events hosted on campus.

The grand inauguration ceremony witnessed the gracious presence of Saumya Singh, who attended as the Guest of Honour and inspired students to transform ideas into impactful technological solutions. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of innovation, resilience, and collaborative problem-solving in shaping the future of India’s digital ecosystem.

The event is being held at K.R. Mangalam University, Gurugram, where the campus has been transformed into a vibrant innovation hub buzzing with creativity, energy, and coding enthusiasm.

Adding industry perspective to the event, mentors Uday Sharma and Arya Bandhu guided participants through insightful sessions, offering practical exposure to real-world technological challenges. Their mentorship provided clarity on problem-solving frameworks, product scalability, and industry readiness.

Five Dynamic Innovation Tracks

This year’s hackathon features industry-driven problem statements across five major tracks:

  • Crypto & Blockchain

  • Cyber Security & Threat Detection

  • HealthTech & MedTech

  • EdTech

  • Open Innovation (including AR/VR, Music, and Women’s Safety)

Participants formed multidisciplinary teams and began working intensively on innovative prototypes designed to address pressing societal and industrial challenges.

Day 1 Highlights

The first day concluded with structured onboarding sessions, mentor interactions, brainstorming workshops, and idea conceptualization rounds. Teams refined their problem statements, validated use cases, and initiated prototype development.

In true hackathon spirit, the excitement is set to continue overnight, with the first round of assessments scheduled at 02:00 AM, testing both the technical strength and endurance of participants.

As HACK KRMU 5.0 progresses into its second day, the atmosphere remains charged with innovation, collaboration, and determination. With over 1000 aspiring technocrats coding towards transformative solutions, the stage is set to truly engineer the impossible.
