Republic Day 2024: Indian tricolour and the Ram Lalla flag will be hoisted on Mount Kilimanjaro

On the initiative of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department, the Indian national flag will be hoisted on Africa’s highest mountain peak Mount Kilimanjaro located in Tanzania on Friday by Virendra Sisodia, a retired army personnel and mountaineer from Lucknow.

Uttar Pradesh Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said, “The campaign to hoist the national flag on the highest peak of Africa was launched on the day of the consecration of Shri Ram Lalla in Ayodhya.”

He said, “On January 26, when the President will be hoisting the Indian tricolor on the duty path in Delhi, the national flag of India and the flag of Lord Shri Ram temple will be hoisted on Mount Kilimanjaro, about five and a half thousand kilometers away.”

He said, our effort is to develop Uttar Pradesh as the most attractive tourist destination in the world.
