Soybean prices on Wednesday went up by Rs 2 to Rs 3,732 per quintal in futures market as traders created fresh positions tracking positive spot demand.
On the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, soybean for July delivery rose by Rs 2, or 0.05 per cent, to Rs 3,732 per quintal with an open interest of 24,845 lots.
Soybean for August delivery went up by Rs 16, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 3,730 per quintal with an open interest of 33,160 lots.
Marketmen said raising of fresh positions by speculators on the back of higher demand mainly led to the rise in soybean prices.
