The online ticket sale for the forthcoming Intercontinental Cup 2019 was launched on Thursday, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) has announced.
The tickets have been priced from Rs 100 onwards for the second edition of the tournament, which will kick-off on July 7 with defending champions India taking on Tajikistan on the opening day. Syria and North Korea are the other two participating teams. Every team will play each other once, with the top two making it to the final which is slated for July 19.
Hosts India had won the previous edition after defeating Kenya in the final which was witnessed by a packed house at the Mumbai Football Arena in June last year.
This will be Indian national team”s head coach Igor Stimac”s second assignment with the Blue Tigers ahead of the crucial FIFA World Cup 2022 qualifiers, which are scheduled from September 2019.
In their last competition, the Blue Tigers finished third at the King”s Cup 2019 in Buriram, Thailand, which included a commendable 1-0 victory over hosts Thailand — the first-ever for India in the country.
All matches of the Intercontinental Cup will be held at the EKA Arena in Ahmedabad.
