Background
International Women’s Day was declared by United Nations and is celebrated worldwide on 8th March every year. The agenda of celebrating womanhood on this day was to honor their existence. But today, somewhere between busy working schedules, raising kids and playing the role of ideal wife, the individual existence of women seems blurred.
There was a time when women used to be considered the second gender and in many areas of the country, this mindset still prevails. They are always have been ignored as well as deprived of the essential elements of life like education, right to choose partner, right to work after marriage and even take or give birth to girl child. But now the picture has changed.
Women are walking hand to hand, shoulder to shoulder and feet to feet with men. Yes, it is true as well as clearly visible in even day to day life. And this change has come only due to the continuous struggle, complete dedication, unbreakable mental strength and unbelievable patience of women. Women’s day is not fully served with only gifts, rather the love and respect are given makes the women’s day complete..
