40 killed in Kabul wedding bombing

At least 40 people were killed and more than 100 others injured when a suicide bomber targeted a wedding hall in Kabul, packed with hundreds of guests, a government official said on Sunday.

The Interior Ministry spokesman Nusrat Rahimi confirmed that it was a suicide bombing, adding that the explosion took place at around 10.40 p.m. on Saturday, TOLO News reported.

Sources and witnesses said the Shahr-e-Dubai wedding hall was packed with guests when the explosion happened.

The wedding hall is located in police district 6 (PD6) which covers areas like Faiz Mohammad Katib Road and Char Qala-e-Char Dehi area.

Sources said the number of victims might increase

The Taliban in a statement has rejected any involvement in the attack.
