As per the official, At least 10 people were injured in a grenade attack by terrorists outside Deputy Commissioner’s office in ‘Anantnag district’ of south Kashmir on Oct 5. Further, The terrorists hurled a grenade on a security patrol outside the heavily guarded complex in ‘Anantnag town’ at around 11 am.
The official stated that the grenade missed the intended target and exploded on the roadside, causing splinter injuries to eight pedestrians, a policeman and a local journalist. However, The injured were immediately referred to district hospital Anantnag for treatment, PTI reported here.
The attack sparked panic among people in the town. Hence, The area has been cordoned off by our security forces and a hunt has been launched to nab the terrorists behind the attack. No outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the concerned attack yet.
One among the injured has sustained splinter injuries in the chest and is in critical condition. Despite this, Above is the second attack on Indian security forces in the Kashmir Valley region since the ruling party decided to scrap the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and divide it into two Union Territories – J&K and Ladakh.
