Procession in Mumbai as the Ganpati idol at Lalbaugcha Raja is being taken for immersion.
According to reports, there were 19 people on the boat when the tragedy took place. The officials have recovered 11 bodies so far and the officials have launched a rescue operation to search for the missing individuals.
Similar incidents happened in Maharashtra during Ganpati Visarjan on Thursday. As many as 12 persons drowned during immersion of Ganesh idols in Maharashtra. Two persons drowned in Nashik district, while three others were rescued while another person was missing, said the police. More details awaited.
