India to Mark Constitution Day On Nov 26, the day fell on the 11th anniversary of 26/11

As you know that, India’s Constitution Day fell on the 11th anniversary of the 2008 terror attacks in Mumbai. Meanwhile, President Shri Ram Nath Kovind expressed, he stated that, On the 11th anniversary of the Mumbai terror attacks, we remember everyone who lost their lives and mourn with their families. A grateful nation salutes the security personnel who made the supreme sacrifice. We remain firm in our resolve to defeat all forms of terrorism.

In 2018, the president were expressed concern over disruptions in Parliament, describing them as unfortunate. It is a paradox that our citizens, in whose name the Constitution was adopted, are sometimes not sufficiently informed about what the Constitution means for us. Let the 70th year of its adoption be dedicated to enhancing awareness about the Constitution, he attributed in 2018.

In short, He also touched upon many other issues including social justice, technology and plugging of leakages by linking Aadhaar with the delivery of social welfare schemes. He said that, “social justice is the touchstone of our development”, the President mentioned that social justice was all about providing equal opportunities — social, economic and political.

Meanwhile, On Nov 26, 2019, The Vice President, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has also paid tribute to the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack. Remembering the martyrs of the terror attack he said – “My tributes to all those who lost their lives in the dastardly Mumbai terror attack of 2008. We stand in solidarity with the bereaved families. I salute the bravery and devotion of our security personnel who laid down their lives to protect the motherland. The nation shall forever remain grateful to their sacrifices.”


On this day, The dreams of the members of the Constituent Assembly took shape in the form of the words and values enshrined in our Constitution, added PM Modi. Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Parliament said that, “The Constitution of India highlights both rights and duties of citizens. This is a special aspect of our Constitution. Let us think about how we can fulfil the duties mentioned in our Constitution”. On Nov 24 he also stated that, A special Constitution Day this 26th. Come, let us rededicate ourselves to the values enshrined in our Constitution. He added in Mann Ki Baat on Nov 24. 

Historically, On December 9 in 1946, Constitutional Committee Assembly of India held its first meeting after a gap of two years, 11 months and 17 days at the Parliament. The Constitution was adopted on November 26, 1949, and came into force on January 26, 1950. Thus, Nov 26 was marked as the Constitution Day of India.

Despite the same, A constitution is a set of fundamental principles or established precedents according to which a state or other organization is governed. These rules together make up, i.e. constitute, what the entity is. Leaders across the country are observing Constitution Day on Monday to celebrate the day. It is also known as Samvidhan Divas — to celebrate the occasion the document laying down India’s supreme rights was adopted. The day is also marked with respect for Dr BR Ambedkar, the chairman of the committee that drafted the Constitution.
