An explosion rocked Assam’s Guwahati today. The blast was reported from Guwahati’s Zoo Road. As per report, it is believed to be a grenade blast which took place outside a mall in central Guwahati.
At least five persons were reportedly injured in a blast outside a shopping mall here on Wednesday evening. Senior police officials rushed to the spot but refrained from making any comment about the nature of the blast. Eyewitnesses said the explosion took place in front of the shopping mall, Guwahati Central, located in Jonali area of the city. Local residents said all the injured were rushed to hospitals.

As per inputs trickling in, five to six people are said to be injured in the blast. However, no loss of life has been reported so far. Those injured have been referred to Guwahati Medical College Hospital. Notably, the area has been cordoned off. Heavy security is present at the spot. And the investigation are now underway.
