Movie Review – Sui Dhaaga – Made in India (2018)
Language – Hindi
Genre – Emotional Drama Comedy.
Producer – Yash Raj Films.
Director – Sharat Katariya.
Cast –
Varun Dhawan
Anushka Sharma
Raghubeer Yadav
Yamini Das
Namit Das.
Plot – Sui Dhaaga is a movie about the life of an urban poor man and his wife and family’s journey from rags to riches through the ability to dream, dedicated hard work and sheer grit.
What’s Good – Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma simply rock the movie throughout. The former through his simpleton, foolish, comedian acting and the latter with her subtle underplaying role are simply splendid.
A surprise package in Actress Yamini Das who plays Varun’s mother is simply outstanding in her performance. Veteran actor Raghubeer Yadav also gives in a perfect performance.
The movie captures the essence of a colony of tailors and weavers who due to the collapse of the textile and garment industry have taken up alternative jobs and this young man with his financially troubled family tried out making his own business and becomes an entrepreneur and gets everybody back to working on their roots and speciality weaving and tailoring garments following a lot of fight, stress and struggle and the conclusion leads to success and fame.
What’s Not – The movie is a bit too long and could have been edited slightly to be shorter no other problem.
My Verdict – Sui Dhaaga – Made in India is the life and struggle of the Indian common man, which inspires all to dream and strife to achieve success with determination.
My Rating – 4 of 5 stars.
