Moreover;

  • Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin shared a convivial meeting in which Trump seems to have confronted Putin about tampering in the US election, which Putin denied.
  • The White House wants to “move forward” from the hacking accusations and accepts “intractable disagreement” with Russia on the matter, US secretary of state Rex Tillerson said later.
  • Trump and Putin “connected very quickly”, Tillerson said afterward. “There was a very clear positive chemistry between the two.”
  • The two sides talked about counter-terrorism, cyber-crime,election tampering, Syria, Ukraine and more in a meeting that went nearly 140 minutes – almost two hours longer than planned.

The leaders of the 5 BRICS countries held an informal meeting on the sidelines of G20 Summit in Hamburg, Germany. This was in run up to the forthcoming 9th BRICS Summit in September in Xiamen, China. The Prime Minister appreciated momentum in BRICS under the Chairmanship of President Xi and extended full cooperation and best wishes for the BRICS Xiamen Summit.

Concluding the meeting immediately after PM’s remarks, President Xi appreciated India’s strong resolve against terrorism and the momentum in BRICS introduced under India’s Chairmanship and through the outcomes of the Goa Summit in 2016. He also appreciated India’s success in economic and social development and wished India even bigger success.

The annual meeting of the G20—the leaders of the world’s 19 wealthiest nations plus the European Union—is traditionally greeted with fierce anti-globalization protests, and this weekend’s summit in Hamburg is no exception.Anti-globalization protestors have been planning for the summit for months, and their job is made easier by the fact that Germany chose—to the dismay of Hamburg’s police—to hold it at a venue in the middle of the city, guaranteeing major disruptions.

Over 100,000 protestors are expected to attend, and already dozens have been arrested, while over 150 police officers have been injured. The violence and tension aside, the summit is still vital for global economic stability. It is the only time the leaders of the world’s top economies may be gathered in one room to discuss the economic challenges that the world is facing.

Why are people in Hamburg protesting the G20 Summit?

In short, In brief, the reason people protest against Trump is because he is an incompetent egomaniacal liar. As for Putin, he’s a dictator, has ordered the murder of numerous opponents. So much for democracy in post Soviet era Russia. Erdogan is Putin-lite, tries to pull the same shit as Putin but can’t get away with it as easily because Turkey has some democratic traditions. The world could do quite well without all three of them if they all decided to go off and play golf at one of Trump’s clubs for the rest of their lives.

With the source of quora community answer, It is heavily protested against by various groups. The most predominant of which has been anarchists. The anti-capitalist left is relatively strong here in Germany, meaning that some people see those summits as gatherings of “cruel” capitalist nations and want to protest against that. Others are unsatisfied with the result of those summits because they produce just non-binding declarations of intentions without solutions for real problems.

Then there are people who think these 20 countries do not have a legitimacy to speak on behalf of the world, considering for example that just one African country (if I’m not mistaken) is represented there. And in this particular time, many people do not want to accept that people like Trump, Putin and Erdogan are treated nicely, although they make more or less repressive policies. They see that as a betrayal of Western values. Those protesters are a very heterogeneous group and you also have to distinguish between the motifs of violent and non-violent protesters..
