Education and sanitation are important in our country: Vice President

The Vice President of India, Shri M. Venkaiah Naidu has said that education and sanitation are important in our country and public sector, private sector and individuals also should contribute towards achieving this. He was addressing the Students and their parents being offered Scholarships from Amar Ujala Foundation of Amar Ujala Publications Limited, here yesterday.

The Vice President said that Amar Ujala Foundation, as a part of its social responsibility, taking up a series of field activities that help underprivileged sections of the society, particularly the less advantaged including Divyanjans. He further said that this Foundation is fulfilling it’s Corporate Social Responsibility in Education, Empowerment, Awareness, Rural Development and Health sectors.

The Vice President said that helping the poor and underprivileged is a part of our rich cultural heritage. Helping the poor or uplifting poor is not only the responsibility of the governments but also the responsibility of corporate sector, he added.

The Vice President said that blood donation is also an important social activity. He further said that serving the human being is serving the God. This is part of our responsibility and everyone should work for others. Learn, earn and return to the society with the motto of share and care, he added.
